God is working!

I just have to say that the last week or so has just felt like a week of small miracles. I say that because it just seems to me like God's been playing a big role lately. For example, I went to the beach on Friday by myself just to relax and clear my head. Long story short, I noticed that a bunch of people had gathered looking out into the water. Of course, I had to go check it out. I finally noticed what they were looking at, it was a manatee! Being from the North originally I had never seen one, so of course I had to watch for a while! I went back to reading my book for and then I heard a bunch of commotion again. When I got up to check it out, this is what I saw!

Yes, there are actually 3! And there was another one about waste deep in the water. It was absolutely amazing! They hung out there for a few minutes and then decided it was time to get back in the water. They quickly swam away, and I was in awe! I truly felt that there was nothing that could top that so I left!! After that we had a weekend of great friends, old and new, and new beginnings. Through every decision and opportunity that we had this weekend, I felt like He was right there guiding us along! And it was a feeling that I thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to daily!

I DID IT!!

I know, I know, two posts in one day!!! But, I had to tell you that I met a goal today! There is a path around my neighborhood that I said i wanted to run last summer. Well, I kind of fell off of the "running wagon" last year, so needless to say it didn't happen.

However, today with the perfect weather, I DID IT! The whole route was 3.5 miles and I didn't believe JP when he told me how long it was. I was just praying for 2.5, maybe 3! (I made him go drive it after I ran it!!! I know, I'm a dork!) So now I guess I need new goal! Oh wait, I might need to make sure that I can do it again huh!!!!

HHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!

Hey everyone,

I've so missed ya'll! Hope everyone is having a fabulous time this summer. Apparently I have been a bit more busy then I anticipated!

Made a quick trip to Virginia to see my nephew and my sister....

My niece and my mom came to visit.....

My nephew stayed with me here for a night.....

I love my niece and nephew!!!

First sight of summer!

So my summer officially started with a trip to Atlanta to see my girl Lydia. She is a Captain in the Army and has been in Iraq for 10 months. She had a two week break so she decided to come and see some of her girls. She then came back to J-ville with me to find housing because she will be stationed here when she comes back from Iraq!!! YEAH~!!!! She had a list of things that she wanted to do while she was in the states. So we decided to help her out with the Joe's Crab Shack mission!!!! YUMMO!

Not so much......

Went to the doctor again this morning and once again the medicine didn't work. They are going to try and give me something called glucofage. I would take this with the next round of Clomid. Women with PCOS often have elevated insulin levels which hinders the ability to make eggs. They are hoping that the glucofage will lower the insulin levels and then I will make eggs. I think that I have decided I may take a little break for now. I will go ahead and take the glucofage but I think I'm going to wait on taking more Clomid right now. I think I may start running again! I used to run all the time and I loved it!!! I'm sure God will grant me what is best. I know this blog seems to jump back and forth, I'm just a little off today.

I'm baaaaaaaaaack......

Once again, I was lost in oblivion. So obviously the last round of Clomid didn't work, so we have started a new round. Tomorrow is my last day of taking the medicine and I go to the doctor on Friday. It has made me very tired but other then that I have felt fine.....until TODAY! I swear I think one of my ovaries is going to jump out of my body! Talk about sore!!! However, I'll take it and much more since it means the meds are working!!! Wish me luck, cause I'm not sure with all of this bloating that I will fit into any of my clothes by the end of the week!

Monday, February 23, 2009

Once again I have fallen off of the "blog wagon"!! When I went to the Dr. last Wednesday they said that only one of the 4 eggs I had grew. However it only grew to a 15 and needed to be at an 18. He sent me home and told me if I didn't ovulate by Friday morning to come back in for another ultrasound. So, back I went Friday morning at 7a.m. When he did the ultrasound he couldn't find the egg. He told me that he thought I may have released it which means I may have actually ovulated. However, it could also be that it was a bad egg and it deflated. Leave it to me to have bad eggs, right???? He said it is possible that maybe JP and I could conceive naturally but the chance is very slim! He told me that if I didn't start my period in 15 days to take a test. When I start we will then start another round of Clomid. He said this time I will be on 300mgs. When I asked what the highest dose of Clomid was that he would put me on he said, "This is it. The next step is the injectibles and at that point you really need to think about doing in vetro since you will be spending all that money. IVF will give you a higher success rate." So, keep us in your prayers that it will work this next round cause I can guarantee you we can't afford IVF!!!

Update

Went to the doctor on Friday. They said that I have two eggs on each side but they are small. They gave me another 5 days of Clomid and I go back Wednesday morning. Hopefully I will be ready then!

??????

I don't even know how to begin today. I gotta admit, I'm a little nervous. Tomorrow is the big day where the doctor does the ultrasound to see if the Clomid worked or not. I'm so excited!! I really can't wait, but in the same respect I'm really nervous! What if it didn't work? Or what if the medicine works but the next step doesn't? There are so many questions, why can't this just be easy?? People get pregnant everyday and aren't even trying. Yet I have to jump through rings of fire and there is no guarantee even then! I'm sorry, I don't mean to rant. I think the hormones are taking over! ;-) I'll be sure to try and post tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers!!

The New Do!!!

I can't believe that I forgot to tell you, I finally got my hair done!!!! It was well past time for an update!!! So, here ya go!!!

Day 8

So today is the 8th day of my "cycle". I finished taking the Clomid this morning. I had to take it for 5 days total. I'm definitely feeling some cramping but they say that is a good sign. Guess my ovaries are doing what they are supposed to for once!! I go in for my ultrasound Friday morning to check them out. They will look to make sure that I actually did "make" some eggs, make sure they look ok, and make sure I don't have to many~! I will let you know more as I find out!!! Thanks for all your prayers!

And so it begins.......

Alright ya'll, consider yourself warned!!! Today is the lucky day that I started the Clomid. Now, some of you may not fully understand what this means. So I decided that I would fill you in. For the next week or two I get to be a leunatic. Clomid effects everyone differently, but considering I've been on it twice before, I think I can give you a pretty good picture of what it does to me. Imagine yourself standing in your classroom, it's 20 degrees outside, and you feel like you're on fire. Yep, that's right, HOT FLASHES!!! I never fully understood why older women always felt the need to announce the fact that they were sweating profusely. Until it happened to me that is! I kid you not, I thought I was melting!!!

As if that weren't fabulous enough, in walk the mood swings. That actually started this evening. Talking to the hubby on the way home. You know, the usual stuff. What time will you be home, what do you want for dinner, blah, blah, blah, love you bye. Now why at this point to I start to get weepy, and I'm literally turning onto the street of our neighborhood. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? It's only the first day and all he said was goodbye!!! Please pray for him!!! He may have a breakdown by the end of all this!

Now what most of you probably don't know is that I suffer from Adult ADD. Believe it or not I just heard all the "Ah hah's" So you can imagine the rest of this, right? Frantically running through my day not remembering what I'm supposed to be doing! More to come on this I'm sure. And by the way, I started this blog last week and I'm just now finishing it! Need I say more? It's already time for an update!!!

Wow!!

Ok so for the first time in my life, I went to church on a Wednesday night. Now you have to understand one thing. I grew up Catholic in Ohio. I didn't even know that people went to church during the week! And for many years the thought of going twice in one week scared me! Let alone going twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday. Are you kidding me????

Well, John Paul grew up Methodist and we had been trying to find a church where we both felt at home. We went to the Catholic church, the Non-Denominational church, we probably would have gone to Church's Chicken if they had held a service there! JP finally asked if we could try the Methodist church. So being the wonderful wife that I am I said, "Sure thing dear!!!!" (ok jk!) We have been visiting for a while now and I really have enjoyed it.

Well on my way home today I had turned the radio off and was actually praying for guidance on different things. The next thing I know I have this thought in my head to go to church tonight. I PRACTICALLY DROVE OFF THE ROAD!!! Where did that come from???? I soon realized that it wasn't my thought at all, someone else put it there!

After the evening festivities we were talking to the pastor and assistant pastor. At that point I found out why I was supposed to go tonight. They need someone to help with the Special Needs children there. Apparently they have been working together to figure out a way to help those families. Before I could even get the sentence out of what I do, the assistant pastor handed me her business card. Thanks God, I needed that!!!!

A Day at the Beach

Yesterday my wonderful husband took Oreo and I to the beach. We had so much fun watching him chase the birds! He was a maniac!!! I'm not sure he's ever had that much fun! I think next time I might find him a surfboard!!! HA HA

Overwhelmed

Ok so I know that it has been awhile since I have updated on here, sorry!Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday/vacation. I know we sure did but it was very busy.

Well, where do I begin. I went to see Dr. Winslow at The Firm last month. He scheduled an HSG to see if my tubes were blocked. The dye went quickly through the right side but not the left side. When I went back for my follow up last week, he said that it could have just been a spasm or there may be some scar tissue from a previous surgery. He told me that I have Polycycstic Ovarian Syndrome, (PCOS) which I was not aware of. Because of this he has decided that we will go ahead and do Insemination. So I get to be lucky enough to give myself shots of hormones to produce eggs that will hopefully meet up with the "swimmers" and make a bambino! I pitty John Paul because I'm sure I will be a raging lunatic during this time!!! Wish me luck ;-) (and JP! Hope he makes it through my crazy hormonal days!!!)
